AOG Day 8

“It’s Day 8 here at the 2020 AOG Games. Thanks for joining me at the Pollen Weight Lifting Competition. Four Teams previously qualified for this event and are anxiously awaiting to sample this spectacular Cosmos Venue. They are: Team Honey Bee, Team Long-tailed Skipper Butterfly, Team Hover Fly and Team Fig Wasp. Typically the Bee athletes have the advantage with the extra pollen baskets on their legs but let’s not underestimate the abilities of our other athletes. They can be quite creative in their technique. This is a timed competition, of course, with the total weight of the pollen grains removed and carried most important, but the exciting variable of this competition, the one that keeps us all on the edge of our seat, is will they be able to lift off and carry that extra weight over the Finish Line? Remember, this must happen in one continuous flight. No rest stops or touch downs allowed! Sadly, it was just four years ago when Team Honey Bee was so laden with pollen the competitor, suddenly, dropped like a rock out of the sky. In its struggle the Bee athlete accidentally stung a spectator, then died moments later. It was a such a tragic and unfortunate incident, and difficult to witness. No doubt Team Honey Bee is the one to watch here. Will they be able to maximize their freight and not be overeager to win? We’ll have to wait and see. It appears our competitors are now weighing in to capture their before-weight. Since we’re about to begin, I want to thank everyone again for joining us. Please, sit back, relax, and enjoy today’s competition.”
