Life's Little Moments

Reflections...

After returning from the Endoscopy Center this morning, I had breakfast (first food in 36 hours - it was heaven) then headed straight upstairs for a much needed nap.  The second of the two Noxious Cocktails last night ensured that my sleep would be interrupted non-existent.  However, the news was the best possible, so all the irritating prep and lack of sleep was worth it...and I'm off the hook for 3 more years.

Meanwhile, the heat was intense at the AOG Village where quite a few of the athletes are enjoying all the facilities while they unwind from an intense 17 days.  Although Team Skipper bombed out of the Speed Pollinating Event (they kept getting off course  and frequently ended up in the grass rather than the pollinating stations), they are hanging out, basking in the AOG-afterglow.  I caught up with Peony of Team Peck's who was primping in front of a mirror (okay, she was actually parked on the front of our motor home, which provides a nice reflective surface).  She said that the competition wasn't about winning medals but about the camaraderie and friendships that develop during competition.  However, I think I may have seen a small tear of disappointment trickle down her fuzzy cheek.  Or maybe not.  Hard to know with skippers.

I also tried to interview the Star of yesterday's Closing Ceremonies, but he wasn't talking.  He was, however, looking absolutely fabulous - have a look HERE.

I will try to catch up with Team Hummie for an interview tomorrow - today they were still in a huge snit about not being featured as the stars in the Closing Ceremonies.

If you have a chance to interview some of your AOG athletes, please tag them #aog21post.

Today, I enjoyed a delicious piece of dark chocolate with hazel nut chips.  Heaven!
