Unlike yesterday the gathering clouds did not bring rain until the early evening and we managed to get a good views on the drive along Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch to the isolated Rannoch Station.  There we celebrated our wedding anniversary with a delicious scone and jam in the sunshine on the station platform having looked back on the way to the pyramidal peak of Schiehallion which we had climbed on our anniversary three years ago. We walked from the station across moorland and beside a forest to the shore of Loch Laidon with views from its sandy beach to the distant mountains of Meall a Bhuiridh and Stob Ghabhar and others on the Black Mount just south of Glencoe and views to the mountains east of Bridge of Orchy.  For a while it was easy to forget some of the troubles of the world in the peaceful environment.
