Yesterday and today there appeared to be butterflies which from a distant looked almost black.as they were flying around.   The Scotch Argus is very dark brown and when it is basking it is obvious to see the row of black eyespots with a white centre on each wing with bright orange surrounding each eyespot.  It is found mainly in the south west and west and the Highlands of Scotland with a couple of areas in northern England.  I have included photos of a couple mating and a very poor photo to give an idea of its eyespots and for my own record as I rarely see these butterflies
