Wait For It

Working at Richard's, gardening and tidying. Had the place to myself today and enjoyed the views and solitude. Ready for my lunch and flask of tea at 1pm and whilst chowing down on ham cheese and pickle I was strangely aware of the air bag motif on the passenger side of my car. Strangely I began thinking how benign this one word is, and what ferocity lurks within. An incredible concept and designed to reduce impact injury and save lives, it had immense capacity for harm. If it went off, for instance, whilst I was drinking my cup of flask tea who knows what catastrophe might result. My son J was saved from serious injury in Sweden last year when he hit a wild boar on a long journey, and even though he was relatively unharmed he did sustain severe bruising to his arms and hands. The car was a write off, and the boar did not fare so well either, sadly. There's a lot of stuff going on behind that innocent little word. But it is clearly for the greater good. I'm so glad it didn't go off and spill my tea!
