An ordinary life....

Pretty petals...

Well today has been a productive little day.

We recently contacted three companies regarding the conversion of our garage to an art and photography space.  One was fully booked into next year so we discounted him.  Of the other two, one came out today to look over the job and have a chat, with another due to visit tomorrow.

The man who visited today was very impressive indeed, as is his company website and Facebook page.  He has completed a lot of work locally including a garage conversion further along our road, which looks fabulous.

It was clear within minutes of starting our discussion that he knew exactly what he was talking about and we were even more impressed when he suggested three changes to our design that not only made perfect sense but improved it immensely, and also represented a considerable cost saving too!

His company would be very easy to deal with too as it's a one-stop-shop.  They employ their own architect and tradesmen, so no contracting out.  Their books are full at the moment but they would be able to start around December and reckon it would take 4 weeks to complete.  He says he will have his quote to us by Monday.

I think the guy coming out tomorrow will have to go a long way to impress us as much, especially as David spoke to him on the phone and was left with the impression he's a bit scatty.  Hmmm...maybe he caught him on an off day.

Having spoken to that guy today my enthusiasm and excitement at having a proper art space is through the roof again, especially as I think it is a space Alan and I could share.

Alan loved art at school, getting his hands into paint and making marks on paper.  His art teacher was very enthusiastic at his deliberate mark making (as opposed to marks left due to his involuntary movements) and felt he enjoyed the process.  Given how much I enjoy it, it makes sense that he may have inherited my creative gene.  To have a dedicated space where he could fully enjoy exploring his creativity without worrying about making a mess would be fantastic.

Finally finished editing the photos from the weekend and now back to blipping on the actual day!  Thank you for all your wonderful comments, stars and hearts for the blips of Anna and Faith.  They are a joy to photograph.
