Abstract Thursday

Early morning on the plot, picked French beans, runner beans, had to use a chair to reach the beans at the top of the canes, courgettes were also ready, AND first picking of the last crop of peas.
Walked Indie this morning a day swapped with Suzanne. Mucky drizzle. Dropped 3 French beans, & 3 runner beans off to one of Mum's neighbours. She was very poorly back along, she's never told me what exactly was wrong, she's a very private person, but due to her illness she now has a stoma bag, still experimenting with different foods, hence the 3 of each. I told her there are plenty more if she finds them okay.
Met Jane's mum for a coffee at The House of Marbles, she's bought me a copy of The Salt Path as a thank you for her box of veggies from the plot. Loads of holidaymakers milling around, a perfect attraction on a soggy morning. We had a nice chat for an hour, I took her some more veggies today. :-)
Next stop the Coop, shopping for Mum & myself ..
Pulled up outside Mum's & could here a smoke alarm going off. Walked in the back door & wondered what I was going to find. Mum was fine but she'd let the saucepan cooking the rhubarb boil dry and burn ... She was sat in the kitchen/dining room so it's a bit of a worry. That's the second time she's let something burn dry.
A few on-line jobs this afternoon.Motor insurance, Mum's utility readings, & Mum's Post Office internet/phone contract.
I cut these Achillea heads in Mum's garden yesterday, they had got so tall, falling forward flattening her Michaelmas daisies. Too beautiful to throw away so I brought them home and popped them in a large vase that stands on the floor. Had fun snapping them ...

Received a message from Kate, a friend from Thailand, she & her Austrian boyfriend, Mensa, are getting married tomorrow in Austria. Friends & family can't make the day due to Covid restrictions which is a great shame.  They were actually living & working in Wuhan when the Covid outbreak kicked off. We had a FB chat for a while before I went to make dinner.

Made a scrummy coconut & peanut veggie noodle soup. French beans, whole baby corn, peas, carrot, courgette, spring onion all from the plot.
