Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Orcas!

Jobs are getting done little by little .   Grampa took the boys in the boat over to Ganges on Saltspring island today as he needed a few things and they wanted to go.   Hot tho.  And lots of people .   But it was worth it as they ran into at least 10 orca on the way back…... texted us so Eric , Bean and I were on the beach …Bean is thinking about fetching sticks……. And we saw and heard a couple of the whales that had come in between those two islands…. Too bad I only had my phone….and knew we couldnt get the camera in time.   But it’s still a thrill to see…. In the extra the big fin is above Eric’s head you can almost see it. Just in front of little turtle island.  :-)     And there was a small one with it.  The southern resident orca population is endangered with maybe 71 left.   ( I’m assuming that’s what these were. ) They eat chinook ( king ) salmon so are dependent on that population.
The main blip is Nik’s photo out on trincomali channel against Saltspring is. It was exciting for them even tho the pictures aren’t great.    I guess you can see how the air quality is starting to get hazy/smokey….  Darn.
And Eric’s covid test was negative so he can leave tomorrow !   Yea.!  Thanks for all the interest….I’ll get back to commenting next week….
