Settling In

I slept so well last night, I was exhausted after that early start yesterday, I think I am getting too old to survive on a couple of hours sleep at night! We awoke to bright sunshine and blue skies. After breakfast we took Xena for a walk which was mainly uphill and as it was very hot we did not walk far as we were all feeling a bit pooped in the heat. An extra of Xena and I on the walk.

After the walk we went to get groceries - we had cleared out all the out of date things in the grocery cupboards last night, and so we had quite a big shop to do today. Then home for lunch, and after lunch Gavin went off to do some errands while I went out with my tripod to get some photos of this stream as seen here (with Xena as my assistant!). Gavin's errands included getting the Swiss car tax sticker from a local garage - usually as you come through the Swiss border at Basel you are stopped and have to pay the annual road tax. Yesterday there were no border control staff in sight so we came through without paying anything, but we know it has to be paid so Gavin got that done at the local garage today. Then he went to the vet to enquire about the Swiss passport for dogs to avoid the costly and time consuming Pet Travel Certificate we have to get each time we come to Switzerland. No surprise that the waiting room was full of British people doing exactly the same thing! It's a very easy process and we have an appointment for Monday when it will get done.

Tommy and Inca arrived in the afternoon - they had flown in to Zurich and got the train from Zurich up to Klosters. I was so excited to see them and they were very pleased to be here. They had no problems travelling, both being fully vaccinated and had to show their vaccine passports when checking in.

Tomorrow ...a big walk planned!
