Damselflies on lily pads

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on yesterday’s kingfisher. They’re all very much appreciated.

Today we decide to take advantage of the sunshine and head for Bodnant Gardens. It’s so good to be able to visit on a whim; since last Saturday and the change to Covid regulations here, we can at last visit without pre-booking. Spontaneity at last!

Bodnant is glorious - and for a sunny August morning, it seems relatively quiet. I’m not sure what to focus on today. Some dragonflies would be nice, but in fairness, Bodnant has so much else to offer - glorious views, stunning flowers, leafy glens.

The dragons are typically elusive, and - when they do appear - a nightmare to photograph (though one does make it into extras). At first I’m dismissive of the damselflies - but ultimately, the damsel dance amongst the lily pads persuades me that it’s blip-worthy.

In extras there’s another damsel shot, plus a water lily - plus, of course, the dragon.
