Edinburgh parkrun restarts tomorrow!

Exactly one year, five months and one day after Edinburgh parkrun was halted by Covid-19 in March last year, parkrun resumes here on Cramond promenade, (along with most parkruns in Scotland) tomorrow morning at 9.30.

It’s been a long time and, while new Covid precautions will be in place, there is palpable excitement at the prospect of several hundred people meeting and running, walking or volunteering together at the prom.

This is the view at the finish funnel, where participants used to wait to get their token after they had finished their 5k run. You can still see traces of where their feet have trod!

Immediately above the old tree stump, you can see Barnbougle Castle, a much-altered tower house, originally dating back to the 1300s and, on the right horizon, the new Queensferry Crossing.

By tomorrow morning at about 10am, this scene will look very different!
