Compton Verney

We went to Compton Verney this afternoon for a drive out, a coffee, and a walk.  Whilst walking by the lakeside I noticed a lot of activity on the water.  There were quite a group of these long-legged insects moving around on the surface.  On closer inspection it would appear that the larger ones were given the smaller ones a piggyback.   Possibly they were the young, or possibly they were mating, but whatever it was they were doing they seemed to be enjoying themselves.  So I took a few pics, as you do, and carried on leaving them to their own devices.

The extra is one of the great crested grebes and it's baby.  A tricky photo as the parent kept diving under the water just as I was about to take the picture!
