The Golden Draught Excluder...

Thank you so much for Alan's birthday greetings yesterday.  I will reply individually :-)

Woke just before 7.00am, saw it was sunny so decided to get up.  It's been a fairly fruitful day as a result.

Chilli made for tomorrow's dinner, some painting, some crochet, menu planning for friends coming for afternoon tea on Thursday and other friends coming to stay over on Saturday, two hours spent pouring over a gardening book.  I really have caught the gardening bug.  All the containers we planted are doing well and I need to know what to do with them next to keep the progress going.  I also need to harvest some of the herbs to freeze.

Whenever Alan's PA Vickie is here, Lola is very keen to keep her company I am sure it's nothing to do with the fact Vickie sneaks her treats.  At lunch time this was the scene I found when I went to fetch Lola from the support team's sitting room.   Lola doing her best draught excluder impression! :-)

Vickie was getting Alan up (he had a late night last night so a lie in today was inevitable :-) Lola, unable to get into Alan's room, was doing the next best thing and lying in the hallway just outside his door.  Vickie's treats are obviously worth hanging around for!

In other news, the guy from the other company who was supposed to come out on Friday to give us a quote for our garage conversion but cancelled 10 minutes before he was due, saying he would call us on Sunday (but didn't) finally texted David today to apologise and say he'd forgotten!  He's now coming out tomorrow evening but it's getting less and less likely we will be using him, but will be interested to hear his thoughts and receiving his quote. Assuming he turns up.
