"Gotcha!" (almost)

I don't often go the castle in holidays and weekends as there are lots of visitors which is not my idea of fun.  This afternoon I went round the village and did call in for a blip.

The visitors feed the ducks and there were lots of ducks around making the most of it. The swans and their two cygnets were out of the water too, also eating the seeds that can be bought from the castle.

A rat wasn't going to miss out on the food and it kept coming out of the undergrowth to eat the seed.  The water birds didn't like him at all (they're a danger to eggs and youngsters) and the mallards kept shooing him off.  The swans were having a go at him too as you can see but he wasn't caught!  (I'm sorry that the rat is blurred - it was very fast.)

There was an elderly man who got very close to the swans and cygnets and one of them flapped it's wings at him.  This man the kicked out at the swans.  What a stupid thing to do, these swans are pretty tame but he was old enough to know not to get too close.  He was with his wife and granddaughter (I assume) so perhaps he was trying to impress them.
