Life through the lens...

Fennel flowers.

An unusual flower for Flower Friday.
This is bronze fennel which grows at the back of the border. It reaches about 6ft high ( see extra) and today was covered in insects, bees, and hover flies.
I liked the way the pollen is caught in the spider’s web, and if you look carefully you may be able to spot the spider. Just!

At last we have what feels like a summer’s day. Quite a lot of sunshine and warm. 22C. Very little wind.
Actually sat out in the garden for a while before more dead heading.
I have bought some loppers so that I can reach the roses which are flowering by the door. They look lovely, but do make a mess when the petals fall, and are difficult to reach when dead heading.

Looking forward to taking our two granddaughters out for a meal tonight.
It was originally planned for last November, then rebooked for April, but one couldn’t make it so this is the third attempt.
We were looking forward to the Tapas evening at our local Deli, but unfortunately it is temporarily closed at the moment as they are opening a new bistro in the golf club. All refurbished.
So we are off to the Golf Club. Not knowing quite what to expect.
One thing I do know we will certainly enjoy the company.
