Cardington Hangars

This morning we received a message from the hotel we had booked to stay at on Monday night…having to cancel the booking because of staff shortages. Mrs madwill hurriedly looked around for an alternative… found one (more expensive) near Rutland Water. Ho hum

Frustrated by the technology in the house we are staying at…took us 30 minutes to work out how to turn the hob on just to make scrambled egg for breakfast…thank god for you tube… A ‘touch screen’ hob…who knew…just be careful where you touch…you may get burnt…

Lights are controlled by Alexa….. “Alexa, turn on living room lights…nothing, zilch!  “Alexa, turn on kitchen light”….”That area is not controlled!”….  “Alexa, turn on hall lights” “There are four items called this which do you want”….we spent a lot of time wandering around in the dark last night!

We did get out for lunch with Mrs madwill’s mother - at the little bistro in her  retirement village…the Cardington Hangars can be seen from her window…this is not the clearest of shots,  it is taken through a triple glazed window…and is heavily cropped. At least they were visible today..yesterday they were hidden by rain and clouds! No sign of the airship…although I have no idea if it is still even stored there.

Apologies if I have missed a journal or two - has been difficult to find time to sit down and read / comment in my normal way. Comments may have been a little more concise than usual as I have only got my tablet with me - and typing is not the easiest - even with a little Bluetooth keyboard!

Hopefully normal service will be resumed later in the week!
