Hallcroft in Shepshed

on a bright Sunday in August enjoying a Thank You from Shepshed Market Traders. That's not to say there was free beer and pizza, but it had been organised very well. Today's photo is a merge from four photos.

The Hallcroft Tap, a micro pub in the street, provided a beer stall with thanks to Charnwood Brewery. Livio had organised a pizza stall with one of his colleagues making up the pizzas and cooking them in a portable gas fired oven. Livio had brought out the wine. Finkins was open as was Meet n Eat, and also the Footcare shop. I think I might try that out.

The dampener was that a chap who lived in an apartment on the corner  had complained to the council about the event as well as the market itself, saying it was too busy and noisy. Is the council going to believe him or the fact that Shepshed people came out to enjoy themselves and spend some money into the bargain?

The entertainment was outstanding. A splendid singer and then a group of Irish musicians. Actually, I don't know if they were Irish but they were playing Irish tunes and songs on authentic instruments including the bodhran (see extra). I love the sound of that drum. Feet were tapping. We could have done with a group of Irish dancers.

We had to slip away because I needed to go to M&S in Loughborough to buy some gluten free bread. Then we adjourned to Muffin Break for latte and muffins.
