Silly Saturday ...

... is it autumn already!?!

The calendar says no but the falling leaves say yes!

We made our normal run to Juniperdale Farms this morning to pick up some fresh corn on the cob.

But before going to the farm we took our walk at the Plainfield Rail Trail. It's been several weeks since we have been here and it was nice for a change of scenery.  But we didn't see a single squirrel or chipmunk!

From the rail trail we drove to Jacobsburg where we had a picnic lunch and checked out the frog pond.  Not as many frogs as last week but we did see some.  Unfortunately, this area of the park is overrun with the invasive spotted lantern fly.  This invasive insect is quite literally taking over the place ... it's so sad to see.  Obviously the park officials don't want to use any pesticides so the lantern fly can't be controlled.

On the way home we stopped at a few place including Home Depot to look at their small chest freezers as we need something to augment our normal freezer.
