Veils for Vines

We are back to cloudless blue skies but there is a nip in the air in the early mornings. The days are a little cooler too. After the 25 mm of rain that fell at the beginning of the week the ground is greening up a little in some areas. It seems to me that it is the weeds that start growing before anything more useful.
Vintage, or the harvesting of the grapes, draws nearer. The gas guns bang away and the netting covers over the grapes tremble in the breeze.
The netting shrouded vines in today's blip is extensive. It is extremely wide and covers five rows of grapes at a time with a gap between each five rows.
I have captured this scene in the Wither Hills vineyard. Wither Hills is the name of a wine company. Last night we photographed a bottle of the Wither Hills wine on our table along with Jameskiw1's birthday cake. I am told it is a very good drop!
I hope our Jameskiw1 enjoyed his birthday. A number of our friends have been enjoying his Chocolate Mud birthday cake today... Yummy. We can't send him any of the cake but Keith is parceling up the candles to post them away to Wales as a memento.
