Downtown - Taylor River

Downtown the Taylor River is tamed and predictable. The riverbanks are mown, trees are tidy and there are nice concrete paths running along the banks. These paths provide excellent access to folks on foot, on skateboards, scooters, bicycles, mobility scooters, for dog walking and parents with prams and buggies. The paths are heavily used.
I have captured this image from the Arthur Street Bridge looking down over the area adjacent to Riverside Park. There is a very narrow gauge railway running along the river bank. It is part of the Riverside Railway. Small diesel trains run along here from the Riverside Railway base at Brayshaw Park. Folk are able to travel in the open carriages in order to enjoy the riverside scenery. Many people enjoy our downtown riverside paths… we are lucky to have this recreation area close into town.
