Sally Mair - Loving life

Fire! Fire!

There was a fire at the local primary school this afternoon. It appears to have been in /on the roof area and nobody was hurt. I didn't like to be too intrusive - I'd make a lousy paparazzi! So this is taken from across the road. I parked behind another fire engine. Blue lights were flashing though! Extra is a picture from a friend. The fire started at lunch time but all were successfully evacuated

I had a lovely slow start this morning, i went to Soderberg and bought a supply of Cardamon and Cinnamon buns to freeze. I do like them as a special treat. A quick visit to Herbies for some of their delicious home made pate then down to Lidl for some baguette to spread it on. Lunch sorted!
Ali popped by this afternoon and we went down to Homebase. She needed some more gas for their pizza oven and I picked up a bargain gypsophila and another heather.

The spaces for people adaptations to the Queensferry Road into town have basically reduced what was an efficient four lane road to two lanes (one in each direction) The new bus lane means that all traffic heading into town is held up as soon as a car wants to turn right. Many do. There are permanent queues of idling traffic all day long now churning fumes into the environment and our home which never happened before. A five minute drive has become a twenty minute one, in both directions. The bus services are very poor and are no quicker than travelling by car. Can you tell I'm grumpy about it?

Colin got back this evening and we had fish and chips, yummy and much less effort that anything else is planned. M&S sake a very tasty, fresh, tartare sauce so that added to my enjoyment.

The figures today are a cause for concern. How can so many people be NEW cases.
Keep safe everyone
