Wind and rain are not fun

Today is day 13 of the Level 4 lockdown. After an increase every day in the number of new cases, the number reported yesterday (83) was almost the same as the previous day. Today, there was a drop to 53, which is really hopeful.

Pure numbers can miss out on the nuances, however. Thirty percent of the new cases had been active outside their homes when probably infectious. If each of those has spread to the number that was thought likely (6 - 8) that would be a large jump.

After a day of fighting with the computer and the different meeting systems (and possibly winning by the end of it) I needed to be outside and running. The intermittent rain stopped and I headed out and down to the Southend of Snells Beach, where two Kawau paka were on the rocky reef. For a bird that spends a lot of its time in or on or under the water, it looked particularly grumpy.
