a lifetime burning

A bit of a slow day on the photography front so praise be for grinning Bishes!

....

Daughter Jess and her boyfriend James have been surfing in Cornwall for a few days, so they stopped with us last night to break up the journey.  Some difficult camping conditions and crying of other's babies meant that they were both a bit short of sleep, and just delighted to be able to crash into a decent bed last night.

Janet and Incredibish joined us for lunch today.  When this was arranged we were expecting a gloriously sunny Bank Holiday.  As it was, the rain just about held off, but it was definitely grey and chilly.... but suitably convivial.

This portrait was easily the best picture of my day - he is just such a great model.  Thank goodness he doesn't charge for this sort of thing (over and above the roast lunch, deserts and alcofrolics that is).

This doesn't really meet the requirements for this week's Mono Monday challenge - which is  "negative space" - but I've tagged it for Mono Monday anyway as it is of course in mono.
