Adiós, Ida

We’re thankful to have only received light to moderate rain overnight and this morning from once-Hurricane Ida. She was a fierce storm causing destruction and flooding to all those in her path. Thankfully we were on the northern side of Ida as she exited out to sea. Good riddance! • I decided to join in today’s Abstract Challenge. I don’t believe there’s a theme. Thank you, Ingeborg, for hosting! The neighbor’s house behind us sits on a hill, and I’ve always enjoyed looking up that way to monitor their two apple trees. I get a better view of them when I mow our lawn. They are loaded with apples this year and most look ripe, at least from a distance. It won’t be long before we find small or nibbled ones in our yard from hurried deer or squirrels • The apple forecast for the northeast: fewer apples on the trees, but larger in size. Harvest will be early too due to early heat this past spring • You know what they say, an apple a day!
