A Day In The Life

Rest Area

After a chiropractor appointment this morning for me, MrsP and I drove over to the Boat Landing for a walk about. We were pleased to spot this gathering upriver with several double-crested cormorants and mallards resting on a dock together. Cormorants have less preen oil and don’t repel water like duck feathers. This is why we often see them spreading and drying their wings after swimming. It’s thought their less oily feathers give them an advantage when fishing underwater. Nature is so accommodating! • Happy Friday to everyone! It’s hard to believe Labor Day Weekend is already here, as it’s traditionally seen as the end of summer. It makes me sad in a way but I do enjoy the falling into Autumn, and all that brings about. Thoughts for another day!
