All that Glitters....

..Doesn't Last...

How fickle can this weather get? The last hot, humid days of August, overnight, became cool, pleasant September autumn days and then, again overnight, turned into cold and dreary days more reminiscent of October! That morning sun dancing across the water? It did not last. 

It was cold enough this morning to require a heavy sweater, woollen socks and if we had them, but didn't, gloves! We still did our morning search for photo-ops, but quickly settled on the best we thought we would be able to get and headed back indoors for the rest of the day.

Being stuck indoors, of course we turned on the TV and our weather complaints were quickly put into perspective. The horrific images from the USA of the devastation caused by Hurricane Ida were sobering. Our weather may be a bit "fickle" right now, but theirs is record-breaking, unprecedented, dangerous and deadly. 

Our cold and dreary September day is looking pretty good right now; our thoughts are now for our neighbours to the south.
