Rising Sun

Another of my occasional series of pubs in Thame.  There are lots more pubs in Thame that I haven't blipped yet...

The Rising Sun opened in 1838 and now has a Thai restaurant as well as Brakspear Ales.  The Brakspear Brewery in Henley closed in 2002 but the beer is still brewed in Oxfordshire.

The original Brakspear family were related to Nicholas Breakspear, the only Englishman ever to have become pope (Adrian IV, pope 1154-1159).

Pub hanging baskets are having a good year.
