Life through the lens...

Sunshine Sunday.

A beautiful sunny summer’s day. Not what we expected but a nice surprise.

We watched the Grand Depart of the Tour of Great Britain.on TV.
Starting in Penzance. Such a shame the weather was a bit mizzling.

Then decided to do our “ Lockdown “ walk.
The lambs have now gone to market, just the mums left.
A few ducks having a snooze by the pond.
The flowers still looking beautiful.
We stopped for a chat with the dry stone waller. Not something you see round our way.
He was from Baildon and was building the wall round a house and garden by the pond. Said it would take him until February next year to finish it.
I mentioned that the wall was wider at the bottom, and he said it was called “ battering “.
A battered wall is any kind of wall that has been built with an intentional slope. A form of strengthening.
Looked to be making a good job of it.

The poppy was in a bed of wildflowers which we saw a lady planting earlier this year.
Lots of seeds flying everywhere from the thistles and willowherb.

Spent the afternoon sat in the garden with a book. Even had to sit in the shade as the sun was quite strong.
The bees were very busy, but no butterflies.

All in all a very enjoyable Sunday.
