Sumi-e

For whatever reason, a patch of water opened up in the normally algae covered inlet revealing some lovely reflections. I missed a few opportunities as the sun came and went behind clouds and a stiff breeze rippled the surface now and again.

The ripply (if that's a word) shots didn't work out so well. However, I do like this image of the dead trees opposite, although I preferred it flipped from its normal perspective. A few remaining splotches of algae on the water surface aid distortion.

The shaky rendition of dark branches against a pale blue sky reminded me of japanese sumi-e ink and wash paintings.
