Pictorial blethers

Best sight of the day

More than 24 hours after they went off because of the relentless east wind forcing sea and ships onto the ramps, these two boats leave the Western Ferries terminal in Hunter's Quay - one, with cars heading for McInroy's Point, the other, on the right, manoeuvering round to approach the slipway. As I write this in my study, looking north over the Firth, I can see the two sets of lights sailing towards each other in mid-crossing. Fingers crossed that they can keep this up - the high tide brings more difficulties and the service is still on Amber alert.
