A touch of Urbex

The workshop had been billed Historical Architecture but it was as much about Urbex, as we were lucky enough to be able to explore the shuttered side of Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire.

I'd read somewhere not so long ago that someone was prepared to buy it and restore it for a wedding venue. It would cost a great deal of money from what I saw today, but there are some beautiful features.

Martine Hamilton Knight was our leader today. As ever, she was extremely helpful. I stuck to trying to master my 24mm tilt/shift lens. I haven't  mastered it yet.

This is the Gothic Ballroom. See the photos on Flickr alongside some shots of the flower borders in the walled garden.
