Quiet light

I was so filled with admiration for Miranda1008's cathedral-light image, I wanted to play with something similar. Not having a cathedral handy, I settled for Sue's front hall with one of her sculptures and a few pots on the windowsill.

Margie's spontaneous embrace of the world on one unremarkable Thursday has sparked joy for many of us. Thank you, on her behalf and mine, for all the hearts, stars, and words of admiration. Her joy is infectious. It is how some of us hope to be embracing life if we live to be 95.

Her gesture reminds me of Mary Oliver's poem, "When Death Comes," especially the lines, "When it's over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms."

And Molly Bloom, closing out Ulysses with "yes I said yes I will Yes."
