Another busy day. This morning we went to Tilgate Nature Centre. First we went to the cafe and had a coffee whilst sitting outside. Then into the Nature Centre. We saw various animals and birds including alpaca, meerkats, donkeys, goats and reindeer. We had a lovely wander around. The weather was warm and sunny. I have added an Extra collage of a couple of meerkats plus Becky, Mike and Astrid.

My blip shot of me, Astrid and Becky fits with HeartFreek's September Challenge word which is Family.

We went home to leave the car and then we walked 1.5 miles to The Sportsman pub where we had a table booked for lunch. There were lots of tables outside so we chose to sit there. I had roast lamb, Yorkshire pudding, roast pots etc. Very tasty.

Liesurely walk home to relax and watch TV. We watched the football.....Leeds v Liverpool... Mike is a Liverpool fan so he was pleased that they won.

Later on we had some hot buttered crumpets. Very enjoyable. Mike gave me a lift back to my hotel around 10pm. Astrid came too as she was rather unsettled and a car journey tends to help her nod off.

It was Great North Run day today and Neil and Rachael both took part. The 13.1 mile half marathon route was changed this year and instead of going from Newcastle to the coast at South Shields the runners ran approx 6.5 miles and then turned round and ran back to Newcastle. And instead of a mass start of all the runners they had a staggered start over a few hours. Neither Neil nor Rachael had really trained for the event due to moving home and having a wedding to prepare for and attend. However they both did very well. Neil's time was 1hr 32 mins and Rachael's was 2hrs 13 mins. Photo in Extras of them after they had finished.

Steps today 14,330
