Labor Day ...

... fun.

We today is Labor Day here in the States Richard has the day off.  And since he says he's feeling better we did a lot of things!  He won't be able to take my birthday off tomorrow so we treated today as my birthday!

We started by going to Jacobsburg State Park ... for both a picnic lunch and walk at Sobers Run.  The lower right picture in my collage is of a water snake that we encountered at the frog pond.  I'm not sure what's going on with it's eye!  When we got to Sobers Run we took a shorter walk than normal due to the wetness (mud!) of the trails.  So from there we went to the wildflower field that's nearby.  And then ... we drove to Minsi Lake ... it was R's idea!

We were very surprised that Minsi Lake wasn't busier than it was being Labor Day.  Many people think of Labor Day as the last Summer weekend and picnics are a must!  But apparently not at Minsi Lake! We had a great time watching some kayakers and everything else there. The picture in the lower left shows a woman on an inflatable paddleboard.  We've never seen one of these before!  The wind was fierce today so I'm not sure how she made out out on the lake!  The selfie in the collage was taken at the lake.

We were back home by 4:00 pm.  We had more swallowtail butterflies emerge whilst we were gone so we released them at that time.
