A Few of the 75,000,000 Acres

Overcast and warm all day. We were not required to pull off our site until 1:00 pm. We made a nice breakfast of sausage, potatoes with onions and blueberry muffins. Then the work began. We were all packed and out the gate close to 11:30 am. After stopping to get Kim wine for kitty care, we headed home. The drive was totally uneventful. We took route 301 most of the way and traffic was scarce. This used to be the main north-south corridor before Interstates were built. Now it is mostly a 2-lane hardly used country road. Many businesses along route 301 closed once folks started using I-95. I noticed many soybean fields along the way. The weather has been favorable because they looked as healthy as this one. Wish I’d been fully awake to get a shot of the one being irrigated; would have made a more interesting blip. I read that 75 million acres of soybeans are grown in the U.S annually. wow! We stopped to make reservations for our October trip but unfortunately, there are no available sites that week or the next. Guess we’ll have to make a plan B. We arrived home safely at 4:11pm with a lunch time stop for burgers. We finished emptying all containers, cleaning up kitty mess and washing the first load of clothes around 6:30 pm. It’s kitty snuggling time. Hubby will pick up Chinese carry out for dinner. Thanks for stopping by, leaving stars and all those comments. I value the friendships made in blip. “Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil, and you’re a thousand miles from the corn field.” — President Dwight D. Eisenhower
