"One Street" - collecting the papers

I had a very short walk this morning, just to the village shop for a paper and some bird seed. There has been no more snow, but it remains bitterly cold today.

After the obligatory and pleasant chat inside the shop, I came out at the same time as our friend, N. Yesterday was the Cricket Club Jumble Sale. Despite the weather, they raised £500 which is very good. Last year, an overenthusiastic salesman parted with the piano stool and the hoover from the village hall. Hoovers were donated, but the piano stool has not been heard of since!! It was recommended that the village electric car was covered and hidden before yesterday, just in case.
