Roadmap

I love a road atlas. They’re old fashioned of course. But they’re so much more romantic than a GPS. Full of hopeful anticipation when you are planning a trip, and full of nostalgic memories when you retrace your steps afterwards.
 
When we visit the UK, one of the first things we always do is to buy a new road atlas.
 
In the current politics speak, it’s always a roadmap that is going to get us through Covid and into some new post-Covid life. Why a roadmap? Surely it should be a plan, with goals, strategies, targets and performance measures? Let's keep roadmaps as things of pleasure.
