Roadmap Out Of Lockdown Step 4 - Day 60

Saltford Weir lock

The man in the photo opening the lock gate told us that he was a novice, he’d only just bought his boat. And that was very obvious! Firstly, it took him several attempts to steer the boat into the lock (see extra). Then not only did he not tie up his boat once inside the lock, leaving it to bob about banging against the walls, floating backwards and forwards, meaning he had to jump across a watery gap to board the boat, once he’d sailed out of the lock he left the gates wide open. But he kept us entertained!

Combining a visit to the doc, the post office, and a coffee/cider by the river (see tasty extra), managed to finally get everyone out of the house this morning. The warm autumn sunshine certainly helped. Then a frustrating afternoon battling with the non-existent internet and our energy supplier. Oh, and ate tomatoes numbers 17-19.

Take care, stay safe and well...
