Paused Shielding - Day 47

Summer weather and summer greens, but for how much longer...

A day of cloudless skies and 25 degrees, and a day of waiting and waiting and waiting. Supermarket delivery due between 9am and 1pm; thankfully only had to wait an hour. Dashed to the post office, returning along the river, keeping my fingers crossed that the parcel collection due between 9am and 6pm wouldn’t turn up while I was out; needn’t have worried, he turned up at 5.20pm! Back home from the post office, phoned the vet, as instructed, and was told by receptionist he would phone me back when he was free; he phoned at 6.15pm!

Take care, stay safe and well...

(Short version of the half hour conversation with the vet for anyone who’s interested in the gory details and has a strong stomach: Toffee’s ears are constantly producing excessive wax which then turns into hard lumps (the size of a 5p piece) blocking her ear, causing her irritation and discomfort. When her ears get blocked she becomes miserable and stops eating. The vet doesn’t know why her ears are doing this, and has tried all the meds that could possibly help to prevent this, all to no avail. For the next three weeks I have to increase the dreaded ear wash (dreaded by her, and me!) from twice a week to every day in the hope of removing the wax plugs, and encourage her to eat as much as possible. I will then report back to the vet in three weeks time to see if this has helped in any way. The last resort is to operate and remove her ear canal.)
