I've been meaning to visit the National Memorial Arboretum for several years as it's only 20 minutes down the A38 from me. Today was the day.

There were a couple of very heavy short showers on the way but then it turned sunny and hot. Bother, but thank goodness I'd got my hat.

It was very interesting, with plenty of seating all over the grounds so that you could sit and ponder. There are more photos over here.

There were a few activities available for free, so I had a go at archery and axe-throwing, which was great even though I didn't do brilliantly at either!
