Bokeh

I'm starting to explore the effects produced by my new macro lens.  It has an extra ring called an SA Control.  The SA stands for Spherical Aberration, which is normally considered a fault.  However some portrait lenses have it as it causes a glow or softening around edges.  I guess Canon is giving the possibility of softer or more romantic macro shots.  It's probably just a gimmick, but the bokeh it produces is lovely, here seen in a backlit shot of a Euphorbia.
