Early start (10 am) to Westbourne to collect a radicchio (‘Castelfranco’ variety no less). The prettiest salad, with creamy coloured leaves with burgundy spots and veins. Not seen in UK before. Looking forward to lunch tomorrow.

Then Mr B went to tennis. We were supposed to meet, instead I chose to take the bus to Castlepoint (shopping centre). Not my favourite place, especially unwelcoming to bus passengers. Always get stressed trying to find the bus stop back, badly signposted, not helped by the heat.

Went specially for H&M as the local store closed down. Didn’t buy anything. Found three things to try, only to find the changing room closed – not Covid – but because all the stock from the old store was inside! Very annoying.

Looked for trousers in M&S. Bewildered by the huge variety of styles available dotted around in different sections. To find my size generally involved leaning down to the bottom shelf to hunt for the desired combination of size/length. Too much hassle. Ridiculous, no chairs in the fitting rooms. Fine for fit 20 somethings.

By then I’d had enough. And having seen the huge queues of panic buyers at petrol stations, was concerned the bus could be held up. So went home. Traffic not too bad.

Oranges coming back into season. My blip for today.

Just saw the ISS pass over again.
