Red Squirrel Chronicles

Today is Mama’s turn! She was busy removing seeds from a tube feeder that hangs from this shepherd’s hook, scrambling vertical to perch on top to open and eat them, before heading back down for more. She worked hard for every morsel. I was pleased she didn’t mind my presence but I was careful not to get too close or make any sudden moves. One of the baby reds was nearby in a tree being very careful not to expose himself • Are you tired of red squirrel blips yet? • The house smells like an apple pie is in the oven. I wish that were true, but second best is cinnamon applesauce in the crockpot. We’re making a double-batch which should give us 4 cups. If we like the results we’ll be making more to freeze. Both of us like it but MrsP eats it just about every day with flaxseed • Happy Saturday to Y’all! More rain is on the way :p
