Pretty Girl

Three Red-bellied Woodpeckers visited the BarkButter feeders this morning, two females (this being one of those) and a male. They appeared to be young ones, first years.Their visit is a sure sign of the seasons' change. During the Summer they're able to find plenty of 'wild' food but as the weather cools there are fewer insects to be had. We feed throughout the warm/wet months mostly to offer nourishment to the birds, and squirrels, during nesting season. In late Summer, I cut the amount of seed and BarkButter back to about one quarter. It'll soon be time to begin full-on feeding again.
Wishing All a Peaceful Week.
