Not every day

Music in a landscape

Or seascape.

As part of the On Land's Edge festival, we had the premiere of a new work by the composer Jobina Timmermans. Part 1 in the theatre on Friday night, with film accompaniment, and Part 2 on Saturday afternoon at Strumble Head. Both parts were played by a trumpet and tuba from our local brass band, minimalist music using the regular beams from the lighthouse as a metronome. Extras show some of the audience taking their positions, a talk from a farmer whose family have been here for generations, the musicians slightly closer up, and a tree that shows which way the wind blows.
