On the road…….

Scotland trip day 9 Altnaharra

…… We leave Kinlochewe in the rain for our next destination Altnaharra which is just over 100 miles away (two nights ago this was the coldest place in the UK at minus 1 - but today 17 Degrees).

The scenery changes today to moorlands with the bracken turning red - definitely a very autumnal feel.

A very interesting drive with the caravan along a single track road. Luckily not much traffic that’s until we come to a construction site and we have to wait for a road roller to reverse into a passing place.

We arrive at the site in the middle of nowhere but with a fantastic loch as a backdrop, we park up only 20 feet from the waters edge. The site warden informs us that there has been a sighting of two golden eagles this morning.

By now the rain has blown over and it turns out to be a lovely day. After our long drive we decide to stay put and only managed a short walk . We are here for four days so plenty of time for exploring.

This evening we sat out by the loch and had a barbecue, who would believe it.

At the moment we have WiFi but it keeps disappearing, no TV signal so a relaxing evening reading.
