Nerine time

Not as wet as it was yesterday, but the reservoirs will be filling up!

I haven't been out further than the deck yet, but might go out later if it dries up. One plant that I miss from my Arduaine days is the nerine. These South African bulbs are in flower now - we saw many big clumps of them in Fife gardens last week. The usual species is Nerine bowdenii, pretty hardy everywhere and I'd collected quite a number of different cultivars at Arduaine over the years.

This is an unnamed seedling - I bought some from 'Farmer Gracy' last year and this is a rather nice pale stripy pink. If you don't grow them - then you should!
