A time for everything

Tewksbury Abbey

Thursday
It was a rather grey day today with occasional showers, but that didn’t affect our plans for the morning. Janet has a monthly Boggle get-together with a group of ladies once a month, and that fell this morning. Janet had told us that the hostess was happy for us to go along too, or we could do our own thing, or she would miss it, but we didn’t want her to do that, and we came here to spend time with her, so we said we would go along too. We knew that the lady who hosts it is really good at it, and Janet usually beats us, so we were expecting to be quite humiliated! B, our hostess, has a beautiful house and garden, and gave us a warm welcome. I think there were eight of us in the end - there was some confusion over time, so two of them arrived late. About half way through, B served us coffee and cake. It turned out most of the other ladies were about our level, but as predicted, B left us all in the dust! Anyway, it was a fun way to spend a gloomy morning. After a salad lunch back at Janet’s, we went for a look round Tewksbury, starting with the beautiful abbey, then going for a walk along the river. I’ve put in a couple of extras showing some of the wonderful detail in the ceiling.
