A time for everything

Bibury

Wednesday
Today, we were visiting Roger’s sister Pamela and her husband Mike, who live in the village of Crudwell near Malmesbury. We had arranged to be there in time for morning coffee. When we’d had our coffee, Pam, Roger and I went for a walk around their village before lunch, which we enjoyed at a village eatery. The food was good, though the service was rather slow, but that seems to be a common problem either side of the Atlantic - restaurants not having enough staff. We chatted some more after dinner, then we left, and since by now it had developed into a beautiful afternoon, decided to take a detour via the Cotswold village of Bibury. The picturesque Arlington Row cottages in the lower left photo were originally built in 1380 as a monastic wool store. This was then converted into a row of weavers' cottages in the 17th century.
