Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Breakfast conference

Second morning in a row that it hasn't been too cold or windy or wet (for some of us wimps) to row. This morning my rowing buddy J and I had a camera break here while 6 UW 8x's raced by us. (rowing shells with 8 rowers and a cox) They are "seat racing". After a race, 2 boats would get next to each other and one person would switch from one boat to the other (not easy in a tippy boat) and race again to see which combination is faster. Not for us!!! I was close to these double-crested cormorants on the logs where they often congregate on the freshwater lake. they are the only cormorant (which means sea crow in latin) that occurs inland, near fresh water as well as on the coast. If you look large you might see the double crests (white) on the one toward the right side with wings spread. That's the beginning of the floating bridge across Lake Washington in the back which is in the process of being replaced -alas, with room for more cars!
Love being out there on the water! Feels like spring.:-)
